DAU’s own 2700sf street-front studio office at the Selkirk Waterfront received the LEED Gold Award under the CI (Commercial Interiors) programme. It is located in the South Circle building - another of the firm's designs, and a winner of the RAIC Urban Architecture award. The offices themselves feature natural and low VOC finishes, photocell and motion sensor-controlled lighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures, re-used and FSC certified wood, and desks built from salvaged materials. An installation of acrylic paintings by collaborating artist Bill Porteous graces the freestanding wall dividing the studio area from the spaces behind.
